What do I need to use Vonage SoftPhone?

PC Requirements:

Microsoft Windows 98 SE, NT 4.0, 2000, XP, or 2003

300 MHZ or faster processor with 32MB (98SE), 64MB (NT4), 128MB (2000), or 256MB (XP/Vista) of RAM

A properly installed full-duplex sound card with a headset, microphone with speakers or headphones, or any USB phone.

Mac Requirements:

Mac OS X version 10.2 or newer

Before you install:

1. Log into your Online Account, click on the Features tab.
2. Click Manage SoftPhone Lines
3. Your SoftPhone account number and Password are displayed on this page. You will be required to enter the SoftPhone Account Number and Password exactly as they appear on the page. The Caller ID field will be filled-in automatically.
4. Make sure to exit any software applications that use sound, such as CD and media players.

How do I install the Vonage SoftPhone on my Windows PC?

1. Download the Vonage SoftPhone software installer located here.
2. Click Run to begin installing the Vonage SoftPhone setup program.
3. After launching the setup executable, you will be presented with the Softphone Setup Wizard. Click Next to begin the installation of Vonage Softphone.
4. Follow the instructions at each step of the Setup Wizard until you reach the final step where you will have the option to launch the Softphone.
5. At the final step the Setup Wizard will ask you if would like to launch the application. Select Launch X-PRO Vonage checkbox to start using the soft phone and then click Finish.
6. After the setup Wizard, you will be presented with the Audio Tuning Wizard. Click Next to begin. Follow the instructions at each step of the Audio tuning Wizard until you reach the final step. When complete, click Finish. The SoftPhone will open.
7. Enter your Phone number and Password to login to the network. Click Login. After logging in successfully, you will see the message "Logged in - Enter Phone Number" at the top of the call display area on your phone. Your softphone is now ready for use.

NOTE: The Login Phone Number is your SoftPhone number without the Parentheses "()" or dashes "-". EX: 12125551212

How do I install the Vonage SoftPhone on my Mac?

1. Download the Mac Vonage SoftPhone software installer located here
2. If the license agreement window appears when the download is complete, read the license agreement and click Agree to proceed. If the license agreement screen does not appear when the download is complete, locate the X_pro-Vonage-Mac.dmg file after download and double-click it. Note that you must agree to the terms of the license agreement to install Vonage SoftPhone for Macintosh.
3. Simply drag the Vonage SoftPhone application icon to the Applications folder. (If you do not have permission to install to the Applications folder, you may drag the icon to your home folder instead.)
4. Go to the Applications folder (or your home folder, if the icon was dragged there) and double-click the Vonage SoftPhone icon to launch the application.
5. Upon startup, you will be presented with the Audio Tuning Wizard. Click Next to begin. Follow the instructions at each step of the Audio tuning Wizard until you reach the final step. When you have completed the Audio Tuning wizard, click Finish, which will launch the softphone.
6. After launching the softphone, you will be presented with the Login box. Enter your Phone number and Password for the Softphone to login to the network. After entering this information, click Login.
7. After logging in successfully, you will see the message "Logged in - Enter Phone Number" at the top of the call display area on your phone. Your softphone is now ready for use.
